Electrosprayed WPC/PEO Mats Coated to Fresh Figs

Electrohydrodynamic atomization that is also defined as electrospraying a method of producing mats are composed nano- or micro-scaled droplets. Unlike nanofibers obtained by electrospinning, the droplets in spherical forms, and this result struggle between applied electrostatic forces surface tension liquid (meaning polymer solution). This study aims to prepare characterize electrosprayed biopolymer mats. The 1:2 blend HWPC (hydrolyzed whey protein concentrate): PEO (poly (ethylene oxide)) solution prepared 2.5% aqueous acetic acid solvent. Physicochemical, morphological structural analysis both mat. Increased viscosity addition enhanced formation regular beads observed through SEM images. Image J Visualization Measurement Software was occupied determine diameter distributions forming mean found 1.02±0.55 µm. ATR-FTIR spectroscopy analyses revealed remarkable changes interaction HWPC/ mat coating one log decrease microbial load fresh figs at end fourteen-day storage (4ºC). findings presented research promising for application food purposes.
